Our Poppies Martinborough Riesling is made bone dry for structure and longevity. However, when drunk young, this can taste like squeezing fresh lime juice directly onto the palate - very distinct and not necessarily everyone’s most desirable introduction to a wine. This is not a wine for the impatient - it’s a wine for the curious, for the adventurer. This is a wine that does not give up all its secrets at once. It’s been created in the vineyard to show the intricacies and precise characters of the citrus and you’ll know you’re alive with the initial taste.

From distinct citrus and minerality, to hints of petroleum and through to flinty kerosene and talcum, this is a wine of many advancing layers. Many have succumbed to her lean and gangly beauty, and then been besotted by her gifted ageing abilities.
